LYNCHBURG, VA. -- Junior Danita Whitaker scored 21 points and hauled in 11 rebounds as the Apprentice School made a second half rally and fell short in losing 64-56 at Virginia University of Lynchburg on Friday night at Lynchburg City Armory.
The host Dragons jumped out to a 39-31 halftime lead and saw Apprentice School take a lead in the last five minutes of the game. Once VUL overtook them again, the Lady Builders had to foul and couldnt regain a lead.
DD Porter paced five in double figures for VUL (16-9) with 14 points, while Shanae Hilliard joined Whitaker in double figures for Apprentice School with 10.
The Lady Builders return to the home hardwood on Tuesday night at 6 pm to face in-state rival Southern Virginia University.
