ON THE COURT: Junior Shanae Hilliard scored 20 points to lead four in double figures for the Apprentice School on Sunday afternoon as they defeated Penn State Brandywine 71-57 in a U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association matchup at Apprentice Athletic Center.
Apprentice School started out strong as an April McCoy jumper with 17:32 left gave the hosts an early 10-4 lead. Brandywine cut the margin to 12-10 as Jessica Gledhill scored on a layup with 15:54 remaining.
Hilliard drained her first 3-pointer with 7:19 left in the first half for a 26-16 lead. She hit another one with 69 seconds left in the half for the largest lead of the first half at 42-26.
In the second half, the Lady Builders broke the game open with a 17-8 run in the first 5:08 to lead 60-36 on a 3-point play from Bria Hill. The guests made a final flurry as they went on a 10-0 run over a 4:18 span to trim the margin to 68-56 on an Ebony Ford free throw with 1:47 left.

- Danita Whitaker and Courtney Collins had 13 points each, while McCoy had a double-double of 10 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
- Each team shot under 35% from the floor – Apprentice at 34.9% (29-of-83) and Penn State Brandywine at 31% (18-of-58).
