ON THE COURT: Junior Christina Licano and senior Brittanie Herriott scored 12 points apiece as the Apprentice School closed out the 2014 Martin Luther King Classic on Sunday with an 81-25 win over Briarcliffe College.
Apprentice School scored the first 23 points of the game as a Shanae Hilliard layup with 12:25 left ended that start. Shenita Urquhart hit one of two from the foul line with 11:34 remaining to put Briarcliffe on the scoreboard.
The Bulldogs didn't make a field goal until 19:37 left in the game as Sasha SantaMaria scored on a layup off an Urquhart feed to make the score 45-7. They were 0-for-17 in the first half and 0-for-12 from 3-point range while 5-for-10 from the foul line.
BEHIND THE BOXSCORE
- Kelsey Daniels was the other double figure scorer for the Lady Builders with 10 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds.
- Jessica Neighbors was close to a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds for the Lady Builders.
- April McCoy and Bria Hill were next in scoring with eight points and five rebounds apiece.
- Briarcliffe was paced by SantaMaria with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Urquhart added 10 points.
