Women's Basketball Starts New York Weekend At Briarcliffe Friday

The Lady Builders will hit the hardwood again this weekend in West Hempstead, NY as they face U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association rival Briarcliffe College to start a two-game swing in New York.

Briarcliffe is currently 4-4 after winning a pair of USCAA games in Maine/New Hampshire earlier in the week.  Kiara Johnson leads the team, and the USCAA, in scoring averaging over 23 points per game.  Shemique Hooks follows at 17.1 points and a team-high 9.3 rebounds per game.

Apprentice School is 5-6 after taking third in the Juniata Holiday tournament on December 31 when they knocked off the hosts 74-73.  Kenya Wilkerson leads four in double figures for the Lady Builders averaging 13 points per game.  Shanae Hilliard follows her at 12.6 points, while Courtney White is averaging 11.4 points per game.

On Saturday, the Lady Builders will take on another long-standing USCAA rival in St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn in The Hill Center on the St. Joseph's campus at 6 pm.  St. Joseph's is coming off a three-game swing in Puerto Rico where they split their first two games and are playing Thursday afternoon.  Samantha Retas leads the team in scoring at 13.5 points per game, rebounds at 12.9 per game and blocked shots at 2.5 per contest.

Live stats will be available for both games, while St. Joseph's will video stream the Saturday game.  Links for those are on the schedule page for the Lady Builders on www.gobuilders.com
