Lady Builders Earn #4 Seed For USCAA Nationals

Tournament Bracket

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – For the fourth time in the last five years, the Apprentice School Lady Builders have earned a bid to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division I National Championship tournament in Uniontown, Pa.  The Lady Builders are the fourth-seed, for the second year in a row, and will take on fifth-seeded Daemen College on Wednesday, March 4 at noon at Penn State Fayette's Main Arena.

Apprentice School (14-9) is making its 12th appearance all-time in the national championships and will be taking on the Wildcats of Daemen College (11-13) for the first-time ever.  Daemen has two games left on their schedule before the tournament and have had success in the nationals winning the event in 2013.  Apprentice School will close out its regular season on Sunday at WVU Tech in a 2pm tip.

With a win, the Lady Builders will face either top-seeded Concordia College (AL) or the eighth-seed.  Right now the eighth-seed is Indiana University-South Bend, but they're in contention for a bid to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Nationals.  If IU-SB wins their quarterfinal game tonight, the bid will then go to St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn.  That semifinal would be at 11 am on Friday morning.

With a loss, the Lady Builders will take on the loser of the #1 vs. #8 seed game at 9:15 am on Thursday, March 5 in a consolation game.

You can follow the tournament on the USCAA Championship website.
