Lady Builders Secure First Win

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Apprentice School women's basketball team had five players score in double-figures as they secured their first win of the young season with an 84-57 victory over Stratford University.

ON THE COURT: The Lady Builders forced 18 turnovers and converted them into scoring opportunities as they jumped out to 16 point lead at the break. The Builders continued to press on the gas pedal as they saw five different players score in double-figures for the first win of the season.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

  • Jordan Wilson led all scorers with 20 points. 
  • Latrice Washington added 19 points and had a team-high five assists and four steals.
  • Alexis Wethington posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
  • Aquazia Jones (13 points and nine rebounds) and Sabre Clegg (10 points and eight rebounds) were close to notching double-doubles.
  • The Lady Builders forced 35 turnovers and scored 35 points off the turnovers.
  • The Apprentice School out-rebounded the Cardinals 48-38 and dominated in the paint with a 38-10 advantage.
