NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Aquazia Jones posted a career-high 30 points and 23 rebounds to help propel The Apprentice School women's basketball team over Mid-Atlantic Christian 70-63 on Tuesday evening.
ON THE COURT: The Lady Builders struggled from the floor in the first half, shooting 32% from the floor but only trailed by one at the break. Aquazia Jones tallied 19 points in the second half as the team shot 40% from the floor as they climbed back from a double-digit deficit to win their second straight game.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:
- Aquazia Jones led the Lady Builders with 30 points and 23 rebounds.
- Alexis Wethington added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
- Brittney Jones contributed 10 points.
- The Lady Builders won the battle of the boards with a 54-43 advatange. They scored 15 second chance points.
- THe Apprentice School dominated in the paint with a 42-18 advantage and scored 18 fastbreak points.
The Lady Builders wrap up their regular season this Friday with a matchup against Warren Wilson.
