Lady Builders Defeat Monarchs, Pick Up 1st Win of the Season

IN BRIEF: The Lady Builders battled with the Monarchs all game before pulling away in the 4th quarter to seal their first win of the season. Aquazia Jones led the way with 21 points. With 1:15 left in the game, the Lady Builders trailed 56 to 53. Jordan Wilson was fouled but would miss both of her free throws. An offensive rebound by Alena Puaauli-Pelham gave the ball back to the Lady Builders, Coach Jackson then called a timeout to rally the troops.

On their next possesion, Alexis Wethington found Aquazia Jones for a layup and the Methodist lead was cut to one. Wethington would then force a steal and make a layup to give the Lady Builders a one point lead. With 40 seconds left in the game, the Lady Builders hit 4 of 6 free throws to seal the deal and defeat the Monarchs 61 to 56.

With the win, the Lady Builders move to 1-2 on the season.
