Lady Builders "Fab Five" Complete Comeback, Defeat Royals in Final Minute

IN BRIEF: The Lady Builders came into this  game with just five players and a record of 1-9. The Lady Builders were facing the Regent Royals for the first time this season as the first meeting was just a scrimmage.

The Builders jumped out to a quick start and were able to enter the locker room with a 27 to 26 lead at halftime. The Lady Builders and the Royals would trade the lead all throughout the 2nd half before the Royals jumped ahead to a 55 to 47 lead with 1:55 left in the game.

With Lady Builders running on empty, they found a way to claw back into the contest after a steal from Alexis Wethington led to a Brittney Jones layup, trimming the lead to 55 to 50. On the next Regent possession, Alexis Wethington forced another turnover and drove all the way to the basket for a layup, cutting the Royal lead to just 3 with 1:13 left in the game.

With the crowd roaring, Alexis Wethington forced her third straight steal and Aquazia Jones was fouled on her way to the basket. Jones hit two clutch free throws and cut the Royal lead to 55 to 54 with 1:06 left. The Royals added to the lead when Camile Small went 1 of 2 at the line and our score was 56 to 54 with 38 seconds remaining.

The Lady Builders Fab Five continued to dig deep and find a way to stay in the game. After forcing a stop on defense, Aquazia Jones hit the biggest shot of the night. Jones downed a three pointer, giving the Lady Builder a 57 to 56 lead. Their first lead since the 8:03 mark of the 4th quarter.

With 9 seconds left, the Royals sent Brittney Jones to the line. With ice in her veins, Jones nailed two free throws and sealed the win for the Builders as Regent would miss a desperation three pointer as time expired.
