Fab 5 Take Tough Loss to Wildcats

Fab 5 Take Tough Loss to Wildcats

The Apprentice School had 4 players score in double-figures, but it wasn't enough as they fell short on the road to the reigining EMAC Tournament Champs, the Johnson & Wales Wildcats, 68-88.

ON THE COURT:

In a rematch of last year's EMAC Tournament Championship game, Johnson & Wales used an 8-man rotation to wear down the short-handed Lady Builders, who were coming off of a tough loss the previous night at Clinton College. The Wildcats came into the first quarter on fire and took an early 25-13 lead. The remainder of the game was evenly matched, but the first-quarter deficit ended up being too much to overcome.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

  • Aquazia Jones continued her stellar play with 19 points and 9 rebounds.
  • Freshman Alena Puaauli-Pelham had the hot hand from 3, as she poured in 4 of them and finished the game with 16 points.
  • Brittney Jones had a strong outing with 14 points.
  • Alexis Wethington collected another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Taylor McCaslin, normally a defensive specialist, was also able to put up an efficient 6 point and 6 rebound performance.
  • The Lady Builders will look to get back to their winning ways on Wednesday, February 5th at Mid-Atlantic Christian University.
