Women's Basketball Can't Earn Season Sweep Against Owls

The Apprentice School had 3 players score in double-figures, but a slow start ultimately doomed them, as they came up short against Warren Wilson College. With the loss, the Builders moved to 2-3 in the EMAC and are sitting in 4th place. With the win, Warren Wilson takes sole possession of 1st place, with a 4-1 record. The one loss coming to the Lady Builders two weeks ago.  

ON THE COURT:

The Lady Owls were able to use a strong 1st quarter and their deep bench to run away with a 74-54 win. The Lady Builders who had 6 players dressed, struggled to get going early and were plagued by foul trouble. Warren Wilson did a tremendous job taking advantage of the circumstances and pulled down 18 offensive rebounds and rewarded themselves with second-chance points and 28 free throw attempts. 

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE:

  • Aquazia Jones had a double-double with 21 points and 14 rebounds. 
  • Brittney Jones was 6-13 from the field and finished with 12 points.  
  • Alena Puaauli-Pelham continued her impressive freshman campaign and chipped in 11 points. 
  • Mid-season addition, Jamica Jones had 8 points. 
  • The Builders are back in action at home this Tuesday against Mid-Atlantic Christian University.
