NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Aquazia Jones, the lone senior on the Lady Builders women's basketball team, scored 16 points to become the eight Lady Builder to join the 1,000-point club in school history as the Lady Builders fell to Clinton College on Senior Day.

The Lady Builders shot 48% from the floor in the first half but 18 turnovers led Clinton to take a 53-31 lead at the break. Aquazia Jones led the Lady Builders with 12 points and four rebounds in the first half. Clinton scored 26 points off the Lady Builders' miscues and were led by Logan Taylor-McDaniel's 24 points. The Bears cruised in the second half to take the 115-56 victory.

ON THE COURT:

• Aquazia Jones notched her 1,000 career point shooting a technical free throw. She became the eighth player in school history to eclipse the milestone.
• Alena Pauli-Pelham fell just short of a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
• Alexis Wethington added 10 points and had eight rebounds to fall short of a double-double.
• Clinton outrebounded the Lady Builders 60-39 and forced 30 turnovers which led to 33 points.

The Lady Builders will play in the EMAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, February 25.
