LAURINBURG, NC - The visiting Apprentice School wrestling team raised its record on the season to 3-0 on Tuesday night with a 35-14 dual-match win over NCAA Division II St. Andrews Presbyterian College.

After giving up a forfeit at 125, the Knights recorded a decision victory at 133 pounds and a technical fall win at 141 pounds to take a 14-0 lead.

Junior Matt Perry put the Builders on the board with a 14-4 major decision win over Dennis Clark to cut the deficit to 14-4.  That win was his second major decision victory this year and raised his record to 8-7.

Freshman Anthony Damick earned a 7-1 decision over Troy Baranik at 157 pounds to cut the lead down to 14-7.  Damico, the younger brother of 174-pounder Austen, snapped a five-match skid and brought his record to 5-6 on the season.

Freshman Will Harcum won his 14th match of the season at 165 pounds earning a 21-11 major decision over Mike Frazzitta to bring the Builders to 14-11.  That win was his team-high fifth by a major decision raising his record to 14-5.

Apprentice School jumped to a 23-14 lead on the strength of a pair of forfeit victories for Austen Damico and Quinten Bowling at 174 and 184.  Freshman Charles Mills jumped out to a 13-1 lead in his 197-pound match before scoring a pin fall at 6:32 to take a 29-14 lead.

Senior Cecil Lee earned his 92nd victory of his career by getting a forfeit victory at heavyweight.  That win brought him to a tie for third in the modern era of Builder wrestling.  He tied former teammates Justin Gilliard, Eric Lybarger and a three-time NCWA All-American Ron Vecchione.

Apprentice School now will travel to Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the Citrus Open on December 29-30.
