BJ Compton Named USCAA Wrestler Of The Week

BJ Compton Named USCAA Wrestler Of The Week

Apprentice School junior BJ Compton was named on Tuesday as the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Wrestler of the Week for the week ending January 30.

Compton, a Christiansburg, Va. native and a pipefitter apprentice, went 4-0 last weekend in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association National Duals in Dalton, Ga.  He scored a 9-8 decision over TJ Gillin of Central Florida with a last-second takedown to win his final match in the tournament.  That win avenged a loss to Gillin a week before in the finals at 149 pounds in the Builder Invitational.

He is the sixth different Builder to be honored by the USCAA this year.  The Builders will now travel to DuBois, Pa. to participate in the first USCAA National Invitational Duals and Championships Feb. 4-5.
