Builders Take Two Dual Wins At USCAA National Invitational

DUBOIS, PA. – The Apprentice School swept a pair of dual matches on Friday night at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Invitational at Penn State DuBois.

The Builders opened by defeating Penn College 39-6.  After losing the opening bout, the Builders scored wins in the final eight bouts to take the victory.  Odis Wesby and BJ Compton won by decisions at 149 and 157 respectively to tie the match 6-all.  Ricky Anderson followed with a win by fall in 1:09 at 165 pounds to put the Builders ahead 12-6. 

In the finals against the host Penn State DuBois, the Builders scored a 33-15 victory.  After losing the first two matches, the Builders won the next seven bouts to take the duals title.  Anderson scored another win by fall at 165 pounds, this time in 37 seconds, to put the Builders up 12-9.  Sophomore Kevin Gray closed out that streak with his second win by fall at 235 pounds on the night with a win in 4:33 to put the Builders up 33-9.

The USCAA National Invitational Tournament will take place on Saturday at Penn State DuBois starting at 10 am.
