Apprentice School Finishes Fourth In VaSID All-Sports Survey

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. -- The Virginia Sports Information Directors Association College Division All-Sports Survey was announced on Wednesday and the Apprentice School had one of its best finishes all-time in the poll.

Ranking the combined winning percentages of all 27 non-NCAA Division I schools in Virginia, the Builders won a combined 60.9% of their contests to finish fourth in the poll.  That matches the second highest finish for the Builders in the last 11 years.  In 2002-03, they also finished fourth overall, while in 2001-02 they finished third in the state.

On the men's side, the Builders combined for a 66-46 record (58.9%) to rank sixth out of 24 men's teams.  The Lady Builders' record of 18-9 (66.7%) ranked them third out of 27 women's teams in the state.  That was their highest finish since taking third in 2006-07.

Christopher Newport University won the 2010-11 overall title with a combined winning percentage of 77.9%.  They took honors on both the men's side (73.1%) and women's side (81.8%).
