Ian Jones Named Men's At-Large College Division First Team Academic All-District By CoSIDA

Apprentice School wrestling senior Ian Jones was named on Thursday to the College Sports Information Directors of America First Team Academic All-District 1 At-Large squad.  This is the first time a Builder wrestler has been honored by CoSIDA.

With his first-team All-District selection, Jones is now on the Academic All-American ballot which will be announced in early June.

Jones, a heavy metal fabricator apprentice from Painesville, Ohio, was a four-time National Collegiate Wrestling Association All-American and the third Builder to win four NCWA All-American awards.  He finished his career with a school record 156 wins and was 41-9 as a senior while finishing fourth at nationals.  Jones had winning streaks this year of 12, 11 and nine in a row.  He was also a four-time Virginia Sports Information Directors Association All-State honoree making him the first four-time winner for the Builders.

The at-large team combines lacrosse, golf, swimming, tennis, hockey, volleyball and wrestling teams into one All-District team through CoSIDA.  College Division District 1 covers the non-NCAA schools from Maine to Mississippi.
