The Builder Wrestling squad travelled to Charlotte, NC to square off against Belmont Abbey JV and host Queens University of Charlotte. A number of forfeits lifted the Builders to their first two dual victories of the season, with a 44-8 win over Belmont Abbey JV, followed by a 27-18 win over Queens.
Two Builders were 2-0 for the day without receiving forfeits. Chad Simmons recorded an 18-2 tech fall over Belmont, followed by a close 9-7 win over 2018 NCWA All-American Stephon Halliburton of queens. Wes Sorey found a pin against Belmont Abbey, followed by a 5-2 decision over Jacob Balmas of Queens.
After a forfeit from Belmont Abbey, Colton Messick entered a rematch of the NCWA National semi-finals against Melvin Rubio of Queens, which saw Messick come out on top with a last second reversal. Messick and Rubio would go on to finish 1st and 3rd respectively. The script was different in the rematch as Messick controlled the majority of the 7-2 decision over Rubio.
