Johnson, Messick, Simmons earn VaSID All State Honors

Kolin Johnson, Colton Messick and Chad Simmons have all been named to the VaSID All State Team for their achievements this past season.

This is sophomore Johnson's first VaSID All-State recognition.  He pinned Brendan Hazelton of Grand Valley with eight seconds remaining in the national finals to avenge his only NCWA loss of the season.  He is a 2X All-American, finishing in 5th place as a freshman.  His 22 pins this season were the 5th most in school history.

Messick's 2nd team All-State recognition is the second consecutive All-State selection, also being selected to 2nd team after winning the NCWA title at 125 lbs as a junior.  He is a 2X national finalist.  His 45 wins this season tied him with coaches Amrozowicz, Chevres and Harcum for the 3rd most single season wins in school history.

Simmons has been selected to the All-State team for his third consecutive year, after being selected first team All-State as a junior, and 2nd team as a sophomore.  Chad finished his career as a 3X All-American, placing 5th at 165 lbs as a sophomore and 2nd his last two seasons.  His 127 career wins rank him 3rd most in school history.

Congrats to our Apprentice Wrestler's for their hard work this season!
