Builders Out-Pointed By Skyhawks In 48-14 Loss

VALLEY, ALA.  – Quarterback Kier Houston accounted for six touchdowns, throwing for four and running for two, as homestanding Point University scored on their first five possessions en route to a 48-14 win over the Apprentice School at Ram Stadium.

The Skyhawks opened the scoring as Teddy Gibson returned a punt 58-yards to put the hosts up 6-0 with 12:57 left.  Apprentice School freshman Ralick Lockett, who ran for a season-best 118 yards, answered on the next play for the Builders as he broke a 37-yard scoring run which put the Builders up 7-6 just 21 seconds later.

Point then exploded behind Houston who threw touchdown passes to William Eichman, DJ Williams and Gibson along with sneaking in from the one to put the Skyhawks ahead 33-7 with 6:42 left in the half.

In the second half, Apprentice School's Aaron Finley intercepted a Houston pass on the Skyhawks 47 to start the first drive for the Builders.  Builder quarterback Paul Morgan finished a nine-play scoring drive pushing his way from the one to cut the deficit to 33-14 with 10:13 left.

Houston closed out the scoring for Point with a 23-yard run late in the third quarter and a 22-yard pass to Eichman with 2:34 left to put them ahead 48-14.

Brock Bullock paced the Builder defense with eight tackles, while Izhia Roundtree and Finley had seven apiece.  Odis Wesby followed Lockett in rushing running for 55 yards on 17 carries.

The Builders now travel to Dover, Delaware on November 3 to face NCAA Division III fifth-ranked Wesley College at 1 pm.
