Builders Take Down Blue Lights for Home Opener Win

IN BRIEF: The Builders defeated the Thoroughbreds in their home opener this afternoon by a score of 82 to 75. The Builders found themselves in a hole at the end of the first half, trailing their visitors 43 to 39. The Builders turned on the defense in the second half and forced 16 turnovers, while limiting themselves to 6. Defensive pressure and taking care of the basketball led the Builders to outscore Blue Lights 43 to 32 in the second half. 

WIth 13:40 left in the game and the Builders trailing 52 to 51, a 9-0 run propelled the Builders to an 8 point lead. The 9-0 run was started on a steal by Corey Joyner that led to a Drew Walton layup. Drew Walton notched a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Corey Joyner finished with 9 assists. 

Blue Lights would trim the Builder lead to 1 with just over 7 minutes to go but the Builders were able to finish off their opponent in the closing minutes of the game. With the win, the Builders move to 3-2 on the season.
