Builders Close September Hosting Bridgewater On Apprentice Alumni Tailgate Day

The Apprentice School football team returns home Saturday to face Bridgewater College on Apprentice Alumni Tailgate Day.

This will mark the 30th all-time meeting between the schools as the Eagles hold a slim 15-14 lead in the series.  Bridgewater has won the last two meetings including a 44-14 win on September 29, 2012 in the last meeting at Apprentice Field.

The Builders are 0-3 after a tough 31-24 loss to Catholic University last Saturday in Washington, DC.  Sophomore Joseph Hodge ran for 139 yards and a touchdown, while freshman Deon Lavender threw for 163 yards in the second half and a touchdown.

Bridgewater enters with a 2-0 mark as they were off last weekend after defeating Greensboro College 43-14 on September 13 at home.  Junior quarterback Matthew Piscarcik has completed almost 70% of his passes for six touchdowns with only one interception.  He threw four TD passes in the home win against Greensboro.

ALUMNI TAILGATE DAY

The tailgate area will be open for any Apprentice School Alumni that wish to tailgate before the game on Saturday.  The Apprentice Alumni Association and Apprentice Athletic Club will have a food area starting at noon for all to socialize and enjoy a good afternoon of football.

HALFTIME TUG-O-WAR

For the second year in a row, the halftime entertainment is scheduled to be a good ol' fashioned Tug-o-War contest between the Apprentice School Faculty and Apprentice School Students.  Last year, the faculty won so the students will be out to gain a measure of revenge.
