Wrestling Team Participates In Loaded New Standard Corporation Invitational

The Apprentice School wrestling team will start its December by visiting York College (PA) for the New Standard Corporation Invitational on Saturday at the M&T Bank Field House.

This tournament has a strong NCAA Division III field with four nationally-ranked teams and nationally-ranked wrestlers in eight of the 10 weight classes.  Ithaca College is the top-ranked team in the event coming in eighth in the most recent National Wrestling Coaches Association Adidas Brute Coaches Poll.  Rounding out the nationally ranked teams are: York College (20), The College of New Jersey (21) and Johnson & Wales of Rhode Island (30).

The lower weights appear to be the area with the most nationally-ranked wrestlers as at 125 pounds (top-ranked Paul Bewak from Johns Hopkins), 133 (three in the top seven) and 149 pounds (two in top seven) top the loaded field.

Apprentice School will finish its December schedule next weekend participating in the University of Maryland Baltimore County Duals on December 8.
