NEWPORT NEWS - Six Apprentice School student-athletes were named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team, the group announced Wednesday morning.

AJ Deutel, Shawn Eley, Jamica Jones, Logan Mize, Grant Swanger and Tyler Winegrad were each honored as the six Builders on the team. Each school in the state with an active member of VaSID could nominate up to six individuals for the team.

Honorees have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher and are sophomores or higher. In total, 36 schools were represented by 214 student athletes.
