IN BRIEF: A wild ninth inning rally for the Builders fell one short as a five-run ninth wasnt enough in an 8-7 loss Thursday night to College of St. Joseph's.
HOW THEY SCORED

  • The Saints scored in the first on a single as Jordan Matos singled and moved up on a groundout before scoring on a single to right by Galvis Blandino.  In the fourth they put up two more as Justin Leman's double to left center scored Tyler Demers and Leman later scored on a safety squeeze by Nick Rodriguez.
  • The visitors erupted for four runs in the top of the sixth as Nestor Velazquez singled a run in, Matos singled in a pair while Blandino scored one on a groundout.
  • Apprentice School got on the board in the bottom of the eighth as with one out, Brock Harris reached on an error and advanced to second as Mark Labrador drew a walk.  Both runners moved up on a wild pitch before Ryan Hendrickson drove a single to left and scored both runners.
  • After giving up a run in the top of the ninth, the Builders made a wild comeback in the bottom of the inning.  Collin Wilber singled and after walks to Mike Brumfield and Thomas Richardson, Jordan Wright followed with yet another walk for the first run.
  • After a strikeout, Labrador drove in a pair with a single up the middle and Hendrickson followed with an RBI single to right to make the score 8-6.  Lee Rossi reached on a fielder's choice which allowed Labrador to score making the score 8-7.
