Baseball Announces 2023 Schedule

NEWPORT NEWS - The Apprentice School baseball team looks to defend their USCAA National Championship crown in 2023 with a schedule of games announced Friday morning. The season includes a season-opening nine-game homestand and a total of 30 games at War Memorial Stadium.

The season kicks off on February 8 as the Builders host Thomas Nelson in a doubleheader. Just 10 days later, Penn State Mont Alto comes to the 757 for a Saturday twinbill. The next weekend will see Apprentice take on Allegheny College in a Friday-Saturday three game set before finishing up the month of February against Southern Virginia on February 28.

After a trip to Myrtle Beach to kick off March and a trip to Bryant & Stratton on March 6, the Builders will return home for a midweek matchup with Paul D.Camp on March 8 before a four game set against Grace Christian March 10-11 at home. Apprentice will take another trip to Bryant & Stratton on March 14 before St. Vincent comes in for five games over the weekend of March 17-19.

The Builders will play five more home games in March against Mid Atlantic Christian (March 21), Thomas Nelson in a doubleheader on March 28 and Bryant & Stratton in a twinbill on March 30.

Apprentice will travel a lot in April, going to Paul D. Camp, Virginia State, Southern Virginia and Mid Atlantic Christian during the span of the month. The Builders will also play three of those schools at home in the month, wrapping up the regular season with Senior Night against Thomas Nelson on April 27 and a doubleheader with Virginia State at home on Mar 2.

The NSAC Tournament will begin on May 6 at Virginia State with the USCAA National Tournament to follow.
