NEWPORT NEWS - Eight baseball players from The Apprentice School were named to the New South Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Riggs Ellis, Logan Mize, Matt Phoebus, Bryce Post, Jake Tiller, Braxton Wallace, Kyle Whitlock and Tyler Winegrad each earned the honor from the conference, joining 61 other players from around the NSAC on the team.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must sport at least a 3.0 grade point average.
