ON THE FIELD: Larry Gaskins ran for 106 yards with a touchdown and caught a touchdown pass for homestanding Webber International on Saturday as they defeated The Apprentice School 46-7.

Gaskins was on the receiving end of a Billy Pavlock 46-yard touchdown pass to cap a six-play, 67-yard drive with 11 minutes left for an early 7-0 lead.  He started the scoring in the second half as well with a six yard run on the first possession to push the lead to 36-0.

Apprentice School responded with a 10-play, 63-yard drive as junior Jonathan Whelan found Travis Turbin on a 25-yard scoring pass for a 36-7 score with 3:35 left in the third quarter.

Whelan was 16-for-30 for 128 yards and a touchdown offensively for the Builders.  Turbin topped the receivers with four catches for 41 yards.  Junior Ty Washington topped the defense with 12 tackles on the day.

BUILDER BITS

  • Washington's 12 tackles sets a career-high for him topping the 10 he had as a freshman against Southern Virginia University.
  • Senior Brock Bullock tied the career tackles record as he had five on Saturday.  He enters the final game of the season next week against Ave Maria with 295 tackles for his career.  Steve Sobczak had 295 in his career from 1989-91 for the Builders.

The Builders will conclude the 2013 season with a noon kickoff for Senior Day against Ave Maria University.  Senior Day ceremonies will be pre-game at approximately 11:40 am.
