Football Announces 2023 Schedule

NEWPORT NEWS - Off of one of the most historic season in the over 100-year history of football at The Apprentice School, head football coach Vincent Brown has announced the slate of contests for the 2023 campaign, starting August 26.

The season kicks off on the road against Bluefield. The Rams finished 2022 with an 8-3 record, finishing in second in the Appalachian Athletic Conference out of the NAIA. The Builders will not have to wait long to play in front of the home crowd as Apprentice will host Averett on September 2. AS defeated Averett in come-from-behind fashion last season in the opening contest of the year.

The Builders will then hit the road for a pair of games, starting with a matchup at Buffalo State on September 9. After the trip near the Canadian border, Apprentice will head to Pennsylvania to take on Moravian, a team that was 3-1 at home in 2022.

Back-to-back home games wrap up the month of September as the Builders host ODAC foe Washington & Lee on September 23 before a matchup with Daytona Elite on September 30. After a bye week to open October, Apprentice will head to Thaddeus Stevens October 14 and Monroe College October 21.

The Builders will wrap up the season with two home games, starting with Atlantis on November 4 and Georgia Community Christian November 11.

Last year, Apprentice was 9-1, marking the best winning percentage in program history and winning the Neptune Bowl over Bridgewater to cap off the season.

Ticket information for the 2023 season will be announced as the season approaches.
