Builders Use Big Second Half to Clinch 90-78 Victory

Romello Anderson led five players in double-figures as the Apprentice School men's basketball used a big second-half to overcome a half-time deficit to clinch a 90-78 victory over Warren Wilson on Saturday afternoon.

ON THE COURT:

  • The Builders jumped out to a 21-5 lead in the first six minutes before Warren Wilson outscored the Apprentice School 42-19 the remainder of the half to take a 47-40 lead at the break.
  • The Apprentice School scored 50 points in the second half to steal the victory.
  • Romello Anderson scored a game-high 21 points and added 13 rebounds off the bench for a double-double.
  • Brandon Joyner added 18 points.
  • William Wilcox scored 17 points and added 10 boards. Wilcox also had eight steals in the game.
  • Drew Walton contributed 13 points and 12 rebounds and Jalen Warren added 12 points.
  • The Builders out-rebounded the Owls 50-47 and had 18 second chance points.
  • The Apprentice School forced 26 turnovers and turned them into 27 points.
  • The Owls were led by Kahlon Whitley, who had 15 points.
  • Merault Almonor and Darius Bryant each added 14 points for the Owls.

The Apprentice School will be back in action on Sunday evening as they face Washington Adventist at 5 p.m. The game is a reschedule from Thursday night that was cancelled due to weather.
