Men's Basketball Drops Road Game at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Apprentice School men's basketball team dropped a nailbiter at Shenandoah Thursday night, 63-58.

The Builders and Hornets went back-and-forth through the entire game with neither team leading by more than seven points. With 2:45 to play, Avin Hawkins hit a layup to tie the game at 55-55 before Shenandoah finished the night on an 8-3 run to take the win.

The Builders cut the Hornet lead to two points with just three ticks left on the clock but could get no closer.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Karree Smith led all scorers with 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting. He also finished a rebound shy of a double-double.
  • Jayden Eason also finished in double figures with 15 points off the bench.
  • The Builders shot just 1-for-22 from distance.
  • The score was tied nine times over the 40 minutes with 12 lead changes in the contest.

The Builders will jump back into NSAC play as they host Central International Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m.
