Men's Basketball Falls at Emory & Henry in Exhibition Matchup

EMORY, Va. - After being tied at halftime, Emory & Henry used an 11-0 run to start the second half to pull away from the Apprentice School men's basketball team in an 87-77 exhibition game Sunday.

The Builders held the lead for a majority of the first half, but when the Wasps led late in the period, Tony Epps, Jr. hit a layup with just seconds remaining in the half to tie the game at 44-44 at intermission.

The Wasps saw their 11-0 run push the lead out early in the second half where the home team was able to hold the lead in the second half to earn the win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • Adrion Wall led Apprentice with 15 points off the bench, while Karree Smith added 13. Jayden Eason and Marion Moore each contributed 12.
  • The Builders outshot the Wasps in terms of percentage, hitting shots at a 44.3 percent clip. Emory & Henry shot 43.2 percent from the floor, but hit 10 three pointers.
  • The Wasps were +11 on the glass.
