NEWPORT NEWS - A cold start shooting for the Apprentice School men's basketball team gave the edge to Salisbury Saturday afternoon in a 76-52 win for the Sea Gulls.
Shawn Eley scored the Builders' first 15 points of the game, but Salisbury scored 34 points over those first 16:30 to take a 19-point lead before Adrion Wall became the second Builder in the scoring column with 3:26 left in the first half.
From there, the Sea Gulls and Apprentice traded baskets for the final portion of the game as the Builders' five-game winning streak came to a halt.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Eley finished with a game-high 24 points, but no other Builder finished with more than six points.
- Apprentice was just 2-for-20 from three point range, while Salisbury was 9-of-19 from behind the arc.
