Dr. Payne is in his 24th year with The Apprentice School and specializes in shoulder and knee injuries.

Payne attended Duke University and was a walk-on for the basketball team as an undergraduate.  Eventually the native Tar Heel graduated from University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill in 1989.

Following his residency at Yale he spent an entire major leage season with the New York Mets.
