TAKOMA PARK, MD. - Sophomore Jasmine Gerald scored 20 points to lead four in double figures as the Apprentice School Lady Builders knocked off NCAA Division II Washington Adventist 64-48 on Thursday night at The Pitt.

The Lady Builders raced out to a 21-13 advantage on a LaTorya Grimes layup with 6:45 left before the hosts answered with a 10-0 run of its own to take a 23-21 lead with 3:58 left on a Kayla Harrison 3-pointer.  Apprentice School closed out the half with the last five points for a 26-23 lead on a pair of Grimes free throws with 40 seconds left.

In the second half, Washington Adventist jumped out to a 33-29 advantage on a Margaret Douglas 3-pointer with 16:17 remaining.  The Lady Builders then raced out on a 20-4 run for a 49-37 lead at the 11:17 mark on a Jasmine Pringle 3-pointer.  The Shock cut the lead to 54-46 on an Erin Duffie jumper with 6:14 left, but from there the Shock were held to two points as Apprentice School closed the game on a 10-2 run.

Apprentice School shot a season best 54.1% from the floor (20-of-37) and hit 8-of-15 3-pointers (53.3%), while Washington Adventist was 18-of-56 from the floor (32.1%) and 8-of-26 from 3-point range (30.8%).  The Lady Builders outrebounded WAU 33-26.

Freshman Jasmine Pringle added 19 points, while senior Shameka Warren scored 13 points and Grimes added 10 for Apprentice School (8-11).

The Lady Builders will next see action on February 10 at University of District of Columbia in a 6 pm tipoff.
