ELON, NC - Freshman Jasmine Pringle scored 10 points and fellow freshman Valerie Creecy added eight as the Apprentice School lost an exhibition game to NCAA Division I Elon University 100-32 on Sunday.
This marked the first-ever contest for the women's team against a NCAA Division I opponent. After trailing 12-0 in the first four minutes, the Lady Builders cut the lead down to two points twice - last time at 19-17 on a LaTorya Grimes layup with 8:35 left. From there Elon went on a run to close the half 42-21.
Apprentice School will open its 2009-10 season on Saturday at 2 pm in the Penn State Beaver/USCAA Tipoff when they face the University of Pittsburgh-Titusville.
