Lady Builders Fall 64-55 To Penn State Beaver In Tournament Final

MONACA, Pa. - The Apprentice School fell to the host Penn State Beaver Lions 64-55 in the championship game of the Penn State Beaver/USCAA Tipoff Tournament at Beaver Fieldhouse on Sunday.

The Lady Builders held a 30-25 lead at half, but saw the hosts outscore them 39-25 in the second half to pull away for the victory.

Sophomore TeKeshia Mitchell scored 18 points, while junior Tyisha Battle added 13 points and eight rebounds for the Apprentice School (1-1).  Battle and freshman Valerie Creecy were named to the All-Tournament team.

Apprentice School opens the home schedule on Friday night with an 8 pm tipoff against Penn State Fayette in the Great Ships Classic.  The first game Friday will put Southern Virginia University against Briarcliffe College at 6 pm.
