Women's Basketball Clamps Down on Carolina Christian in 66-42 Win

NEWPORT NEWS - The Apprentice School women's basketball team held Carolina Christian to 18.6 percent shooting in a 66-42 win Wednesday night.

The Builders and Centurions went back and forth early on before Apprentice poured on the offense in the second period, outscoring Carolina Christian 21-6 in the period to take an 18 point lead into halftime. Apprentice never looked back in the second half on the way to the New South Athletic Conference win.

  • The Builders saw a balanced scoring attack, led by Jada Bryant's 15 points, while Amaya Ray and Kerrigan Small each put up 10.
  • Central Carolina made just 13 of their 70 shots on the night, five of which were three pointers on 26 deep attempts.
  • Apprentice is now 1-2 in league play.
