PETERSBURG, Va. - The Apprentice School women's basketball team saw D'Youville go on a big third quarter run as the Builders fell 75-48 Monday night at Virginia State in the USCAA National Quarterfinals.
After a slow start, Apprentice battled back to trail by just 11 at halftime, 40-29. The Saints, however, outscored the Builders 25-7 in the third period to pull away and earn a spot in the semifinal round.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Jada Bryant and Amaya Ray led the Builders with 13 points apiece. Both had double-doubles with 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively.
- D'Youville forced 26 Apprentice turnovers, turning them into 34 points.
NEXT UP
The Builders wrap up the season tomorrow against Bryant & Stratton - Albany at noon. The game will be played at Richard Bland College.
