ON THE MAT: The Apprentice School wrestling team started a Pennsylvania weekend with a 41-10 dual match win on Saturday night over host Penn State DuBois.
Apprentice School jumped out to a 27-0 lead in the match as four of the first five weights were forfeited to the Builders. Derek Burhenn scored a 4-3 decision over Austin Sheibley in the 133 pound match.
The teams alternated wins the rest of the night as Phillip Porto (174/13-3) and Ian Jones (285/9-0) scored major decision wins, while Josh Rodriguez (197/4:51) won his match by fall.
NEXT UP – USCAA INVITATIONAL
The wrestling team will now head to State College, PA on Sunday to compete in the USCAA National Invitational Championship held at Rec Hall on the campus of Penn State University. Apprentice School has won the last three USCAA National Invitationals.
