The second week of the 2014-15 Top 10 moments countdown concludes with the men’s basketball team as they scored a Senior Day victory over the defending United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Champions Washington Adventist University.
This was the back-end of a weekend doubleheader as the Builders won at Barber-Scotia College on Saturday and returned home to face the always tough Shock on Senior Day. Celebrating the accomplishments of a six-member senior class, the Builders held a brief 6-3 lead early in the game before the Shock went on a 23-9 run to lead by 11 with 7:24 left in the half.
In the second half, the Builders caught fire with a 17-2 run over a 7:17 span as a Tony Walton layup with 1:26 left gave the hosts their first lead since the early 6-3 advantage. That win avenged a loss to the Shock two weeks earlier in Maryland 83-77.
The Builders finished the year winning 10 of their last 12 games for a 15-10 mark.
Be on the lookout Monday for our #6 moment of the year.
