Four Builders Advance to Day Two at New Standard Invitational
YORK, Pa. - After the first day of action, four Apprentice School wrestlers advanced to the second day of action at the prestigious New Standard Corp Invitational hosted by York College. 
 
Juniors Dillon Messick (133) and Caleb Hartung (285), freshman David Norris (157) and senior Peter Cortapasso (285) each earned a spot in the quarterfinals before dropping into the consolation brackets.
 
Messick recorded a 16-1 tech fall and a pin before losing a 13-9 decision to Merchant Marine.
 
Norris would find a quick pin in his first bout followed by a 5-3 decision. In the quarters, Norris would be pinned by the No. 2 seed from Ithaca. 
 
At heavyweight, both Cortapasso and Hartung would find first period pins after a first-round bye.
 
All four will have the opportunity to wrestle back for third place tomorrow.
