Cortapasso Finishes Fourth at New Standard Invitational
YORK, Pa. - Senior heavyweight Peter Cortapasso led the Apprentice School wrestling team with a fourth place finish at the New Standard Corp Invitational in a field of 21 wrestlers.
 
After falling in the quarterfinals Friday night, Cortapasso rebounded with three consecutive victories to wrestle for third place. In a rematch from his fifth place bout last season, he would again fall to Peter Wersinger of TCNJ.  With this performance, Cortapasso improves to 7-3 on the season. 
 
Apprentice would finish in 12th of 14 teams. Johnson & Wales University ran away with the team title with 116 points.
 
Other notable performances included Dillon Messick going 2-2 at 133 with a pin and a tech fall, Zach Ortega finishing 2-2 at 149 with a tech fall and David Norris ending the weekend 2-2 at 157 with a pin.
 
The Builders will head back to Averett University to compete in the Cougar Duals on Sunday, December 11.
